Allergy season has come in full force lately at my residence and I’ve been feeling it the worst, since I lived a short stint in Illinois. Until I had moved there, I had never experienced allergies, but they were so bad, that I had to get a steroid shot on the backend just to overcome them. I assumed that once I moved back home to Georgia, they would be gone again, but I was undoubtably wrong. As I’ve battled this dastardly yellow devil, I’ve been laid up in the house for the past few weeks. I’ve found little motivation to do much, but in what I have had the time for, I decided to try out a few different mood board apps and see what all I could make. Generally speaking, I think mood boards by all means are a great way of laying out things that inspire you, and helping you to understand the common traits within them. So for the sake of not being able to do much other than rest lately, here are a few of the boards I’ve managed to wrangle together and what styles have been inspiration to me lately.
Southern Interior
I’m a seer-sucker for some southern inspired interior design. (That was an awful joke, I’m sorry, you can tell I haven’t been out much lately.)
I tend to find myself toting the line between southern, french, and some North Fork inspiration when it comes to interior design. If there’s anything I’m browsing most on pinterest or other social discovery platforms, it’s usually interiors.
Art
I’ve been obsessed with pulp art for a while now. Vintage ads and book covers have some of the best looks from this decade. I love the 1940s style of lovers, sports, and even food. There was something special about a time in which everyone dressed up a little bit more, and the simplicity of lifestyle without electronics. I just recently watched “To Catch a Thief” with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, and the picturesque scenes were incredible.
Western
Growing up I remember I always loved playing with Lincoln Logs and those little cowboys and indians figurines. I seem to have had a constant fascination for the old west. Still even today I love to swing dance to country tunes and I hope to soon find a place to learn how you rope and ride, or maybe even crack a whip. Western style and flair has always been a love for me, and if there’s one introduction I love to give, it’s "Howdy."
I hope some of these boards helped brighten the mood!
